The story

The island's ferry terminal, at the western edge of St Helier harbour on land reclaimed from St Aubin's Bay. Opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 25 May 1989, it stands opposite Elizabeth Castle, named for Elizabeth I around 1600. Passenger ferries from England, France and Guernsey berth here, alongside the commercial port that handles around 550,000 tonnes of freight a year.
