Learn as you go

The story of every place — in your pocket

Every place carries a written description, and most also a short audio guide (136 of 136 so far, more being recorded) — a minute or two, the story of the place, not a lecture. Many of the island's interpretation boards are now scratched, sun-bleached or unreadable — Jersey Quest carries that information in a form that doesn't weather, and keeps it up to date.

Written descriptions

The history and context of each place — no faded board and no signal required.

Short audio guides — offline

A minute or two per place. Listen as you walk — hands-free, and easier than squinting at a plaque in the sun. Descriptions, audio and photos are stored on your phone, so they work with no signal.

Readable by everyone

Audio and adjustable text help visitors with low vision or dyslexia, and non-English speakers.

Where we can, a place carries its name in Jèrriais — Jersey's own language. Names are checked with island language specialists before they go live, never machine-translated. We'd love to add short recordings of how each name is said.

Safe by the tide

Jersey has one of the world's largest tidal ranges

Places you can only reach at low tide — Seymour Tower, the Elizabeth Castle causeway, La Rocco Tower, Icho Tower — carry a clear tidal warning in the app, with a link to live tide times. Explore the island safely.

Nobody in Jersey may legally drive faster than 40 mph anywhere on the island. In the Green Lanes the limit drops to just 15 mph, slower than a fast cyclist.
