The story
The official residence of the Lieutenant Governor, the King's representative in Jersey, set in gardens on St Saviour's Hill above St Helier. The house was built in the early 19th century as a private home and has served its official role since the 1820s. It is not open to the public, though the gardens are occasionally opened for charity days; the gates and lodge can be seen from the road.
