The story
The parish church where William Corbet Le Breton was Rector and Dean of Jersey, and where his daughter is buried. She was born Emilie Charlotte Le Breton in 1853, married in 1874, moved to London, and became famous there as Lillie Langtry; she died at Monte Carlo in February 1929 and her body was brought back to Jersey. She was buried with her parents. Among the other graves in the churchyard is that of Dr Alexander Milton Ross, an abolitionist and naturalist, whose life had no connection with the island until it ended here.
