Low Tide Club

Nine places that only exist at low water — the hardest set on the island.

Twice a day the sea pulls back up to twelve metres and Jersey grows by a third. Out on that new ground stand nine places you can only reach on foot at low tide: castles on islets, towers a mile out on the sand, a hermit's chapel on a rock. Each one needs a tide table and a plan, and each one is gone again a few hours later. Collect all nine and you have done something most islanders never have. Check the tide before every one of them — and never try to beat a rising sea.
