In 1934 Florence Boot, widow of Jesse Boot of Boots the Chemist, decided to rebuild this modest chapel in her husband's memory and hired René Lalique to fill it with glass.

The story
In 1934 Florence Boot, widow of Jesse Boot of Boots the Chemist, decided to rebuild this modest chapel in her husband's memory and hired René Lalique to fill it with glass. He designed everything: the doors, the screens, the font, the angels of the Lady Chapel, and a lit cross more than three metres high. Lalique made monumental glass for ocean liners and express trains and almost all of it is gone. This interior is the one that survives, complete.
