The story
The southernmost horse-racing course in the British Isles, laid out on the cliff-top common at Les Landes in the north-west corner of the island. The Jersey Race Club dates back to 1832, and racing at Les Landes takes place on a handful of fixtures between spring and late summer. The setting is the draw: Grosnez Castle ruins on the headland, Sark and Guernsey on the horizon, and the Atlantic on three sides. Race days are a separate event; the common is open to walk on the rest of the year.
