The story
A granite tower mill of 1837, five storeys high, with a domed cap, four sails and a fantail to turn them into the wind. It stands 98 metres above the sea on the boundary between St Peter and St Mary, and was the last tower mill still working in Jersey. Derelict for years, it was turned into a pub in the 1950s and today houses a jewellery workshop and a café; the weighbridge where farmers' grain was weighed on arrival still stands by the entrance. The present sails are a modern reconstruction, not the originals.
