The story
A granite mill with parts dating back to the twelfth century, turning the largest waterwheel on the island beside a stream that runs straight into the sea. It worked as a fuller's mill, pounding cloth, and as a corn mill. During the Occupation the Germans requisitioned the wheel to power their searchlights. The bar is now built around the mill's cog wheels and gearing.
