A big, plain, confident chapel on the main road through St Ouen — and a reminder that for two centuries Jersey was one of the most Methodist places in the British Isles. Preachers arrived from England in the 1780s, the French-speaking country parishes took to the new faith with enthusiasm, and by the Victorian era almost every district had a chapel like this one, built by subscription and filled twice on Sundays. Most still stand; many are now homes. This one is still a church. Television found it too: the 2025 Bergerac used the chapel and its surroundings for filming in both its first and second series.
