The story
A reservoir in a wooded valley in St Peter, dammed in the early 1960s to supply the island with water. A path circles the lake, and on the slopes above it an arboretum has been planted with trees from around the world, with a section dedicated to species from the northern hemisphere. Quiet and sheltered, it is one of the best inland walks on the west side of the island, a short distance from St Ouen's Bay.
