The story
A standing stone on the south-east of the island. In 1934 a small pit was excavated close beside it and found to be full of limpet shells — possibly an offering left in connection with something that happened at this stone. Jersey's menhirs are generally thought to have been raised in the later Neolithic or Copper Age, and some were reused by later people.
