The story
A preserved stone crusher from the granite quarry at La Moye, on the south-west corner of the island. Jersey granite was quarried and exported for harbours and paving across the Channel in the 19th century, and the crusher is a rare surviving piece of that industry, left standing as a monument near the old workings. The site is close to the coast path towards Corbière.
