A steatite bead, a clay spindle whorl for spinning thread, a fine flint pick, three round-bottomed bowls and broken vase supports came out of this tomb, along with limpet shells, animal bones and small heaps of brightly coloured sea pebbles.

The story
A steatite bead, a clay spindle whorl for spinning thread, a fine flint pick, three round-bottomed bowls and broken vase supports came out of this tomb, along with limpet shells, animal bones and small heaps of brightly coloured sea pebbles. The Société Jersiaise excavated it in 1912, seventy-three years after it was first noticed. The monument is a passage grave: upright granite blocks and dry stone walling lead in to an oval chamber, with a smaller chamber opening off the north side. Both the passage and that side chamber still carry their roofing stones, which is why it can be entered.
