The story
A deep, pebbly bay on the north coast beneath steep wooded slopes, with some of the clearest water in Jersey — which is why it is the island's best-known diving spot. The road that winds down to it is famous in its own right: the Bouley Bay Hill Climb has been raced by cars and motorcycles since the 1920s. Local folklore adds the Black Dog of Bouley Bay, a huge hound with fiery eyes said to roam the lanes before a storm — a tale once useful to smugglers who wanted the roads empty at night.
