Monuments and memorials in Jersey

Most of these are in St Helier and can be collected in an afternoon on foot. Several mark 9 May 1945, the day the island was liberated and still its biggest annual holiday; others are older — a queen, a king, a reforming Constable. Two are jokes islanders are fond of: the crapaud, the toad that Jersey people are nicknamed after by their Guernsey neighbours, and the devil at Devil’s Hole.
